This date was chosen to coincide with the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17th, 1787. Did you know…that the Human drama that took place on the Main Street of Middletown on Sunday, September 14, 1862 was one of huge proportion. Civil War historians tell us that 35,000 troops from both the Northern and Southern armies passed through Middletown that day on their way to the Battle of South Mountain west of town.  Mark your calendar…September 25th Come join the citizens of Middletown and celebrate with us our Heritage Days.
